Land acknowledgement

The ancestral stewards of the place where I live and work are the Seminole, Miccosukee, and Timucua people. Centuries of injustice and displacement have scarred both the land and the people. Some signed unfair treaties with the colonizing government under duress; the Seminole Tribe never did (opens in new tab) .
